Boston Lights at Franklin Park Zoo

I ventured into the dark lands… Past the safety of the “Live Free, or Die” state… I returned to tell you the tale of… a…

…fun family trip to the Franklin Park Zoo’s Boston Lights: A Lantern Experience!

As animal lovers, we somehow had never checked out the New England Zoos and we were pleasantly surprised by the Franklin Park Zoo. The animals appeared well taken care of and they had a healthy assortment to check out that gave us a couple of hours of entertainment. Highly suggest it and we picked up their full membership that covers unlimited visits to the Franklin Park Zoo, Stone Zoo, and 50% of at Squam Lake Science Center.

That evening we checked out “Boston Lights: A Lantern Experience” and it was fantastic. If you have kids and can swing the admission, it is impressive the size and volume of lantern designs that bring you around the world, from the fantastical and realistic. Show up at sunset to beat some of the crowds and see the contrast as the sun sets across the zoo with their displays becoming brighter and brighter.

Personally, if you can swing it, check out both the zoo and lights. The membership is worth it if you plan on repeatedly visiting or seeing their partner institutions. We had a blast and you can learn more at https://www.zoonewengland.org/engage/boston-lights
